Teeth whitening

Teeth whitening involves brightening the color of teeth and removing stains from the crowns of all or selected individual teeth. The final effect of whitening is difficult to predict, and depends on many factors, in particular the mineral composition of the patient's enamel, the composition and viscosity of the patient's saliva, the patient's diet, medications taken by the patient, stimulants used by the patient and the patient's hygiene habits.

Indications for teeth whitening:

  • removal of stains present on teeth from the moment of eruption, as well as those that appear with age; success is achieved to varying degrees for stains caused by the use of antibiotics from the tetracycline group and brown stains caused by fluorosis,
  • whitening of dead, dark and discolored teeth,
  • removal of discoloration caused by congenital, systemic, metabolic, pharmacological factors, injuries, fluorosis, treatment with antibiotics of the tetracycline group, hemolytic disease of newborns, hepatitis, porphyria.
